The Dark Knight

I know I am behind the rest of the world in seeing this...but I hate going to the movie and being crowded next to other people. I am not one of those people that have to go to a movie the first night it comes out. I would much rather wait and enjoy my space to stretch out! Anyways with all that said -- I LOVED this movie!!! Seriously the best movie I have seen in a very long time! Completely amazing and Heath Ledger was brilliant! If you haven't seen it, you MUST see it while it is in theaters!

Do you keep the Ring?

So this could be a bit controversial. Lets say I get engaged...(yes I know this is unlikely)...and for some reason either I go crazy or he is a major jerk and we break it off. Do you keep the ring? From what I understand it is common practice if the women breaks of the engagement then she gives it back. If the man breaks of the engagement you can keep the ring. In my opinion I think if you don't get married -- you give it back. Rings/Diamonds are stinking expensive! Plus why would you want to keep that reminder? Anyways I bring this up because Ms. Shayne Lamas is planning on keeping the ring that Matt Grant gave her in the final of the Bachelor London Calling. What do you think? Do you keep the ring? Do you return it? Or in Shayne and Matt's case do you sell it and donate the proceeds to charity as Matt suggested?

What makes a bad day better?

When you Daddy shows up at your office and takes you to lunch! For those of you that don't know my dad works for the same company as I do (Northrop Grumman) so on occasion we go to lunch together. I love my dad, I love spending time with him, he really is the best.

Hilarious!

Okay this is too funny! To check it out click here :) Kirie -- I think Seth will love it! ha ha

A Blog about Poop

Some people may be a little quiet about this subject -- but me -- not so much. At my work we kind of have a designated pooping stall. This stall is equipped with room spray. I personally am not a big fan of going #2 anywhere but my own house...call me weird whatever. Anyways the whole purpose of this post is my ranting about people that don't use the air freshener...You are sitting in the stall, how hard is it to pick that little can up off the shelf and spray it?? Seriously! I mean half the time I am sitting there I just spray it anyway -- I mean it's not like the bathroom is the most pleasant smelling place anyway. Back to the cause of this post, I walked in the restroom this afternoon and could barley breath! So I quickly grabbed the air freshener and sprayed the entire room! I wouldn't want to be walking out passing someone letting them think I created that awful smell!! Gross! Moral of this story...if you must poop please use the air freshener! Thanks.

The Gift of Life...

Today the Red Cross Blood-Mobil came to my office. They come every six months. Every time I try to give them my blood. Usually my iron is too low or my blood pressure goes through the roof. But today -- well it was different! I PASSED! I know I know a person shouldn't be so excited about getting poked with a gigantic needle...but since I NEVER get approved I was so excited! They got me all set up and laying on the table and stabbed me. At first I though it was a little strange that my arm went numb and tingly...but since I am not a frequent blood giver I thought I might be over reacting. I pumped my blood out rather quickly! Afterward they stopped the flow and I had to wait for someone to come and unhook me...well my arm really started to hurt. Then I looked at it -- it was a nice shade of purply blue...I decided this wasn't normal and told the lady I felt like my arm was going to pop! Apparently the other lady who had stabbed me didn't release the blood pressure cuff after she got my vain. So basically all the blood was backing up into my arm. Can I say OUCH!!! Anyways I survived and I have a cool new pink "band aid" so the whole world can know I gave the gift of life...

Mamma Mia

Yesterday after work I went with Mindy her twin Windy to go see Mamma Mia. I had really high expectations, and I was kind of disappointed. Although I though parts were funny, and the singing was alright...I just wanted more. I felt like some of the comedy was over the top, and a few of the leads didn't have as strong of voices as I like in a lead. Mindy and Windy on the other hand LOVED it. I think that I am just not partial to musicals...I'm glad I saw it...but probably won't watch it again.

Shocker...

Okay really not such a shocker -- Shayne Dahl Lamas and Matt Grant from the Bachelor London Calling have announced they are breaking up...

On another note...you remember Chelsea Wanstrath that Matt rejected?? Apparently she is dating Jeremy Anderson that was rejected by Deanna. I'm sorry but Jeremy is way too good for Chelsea...she is so trashy (she is the one that let the cameras show her slipping into something more comfortable, and taking off her panties...)

"We do not remember days; we remember moments. ~ Cesare Pavese"

This was on Steph's blog and it looked like fun -- :)

1. Leave one memory that you and I had together, as a comment on my blog. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Boycotting

I meant to blog about this awhile ago - -but got distracted and forgot until last night when I began to crave it. A couple of weeks ago my family and I decided to stop by Baskin Robbins for some ice cream. Now normally I don't eat ice cream because it makes me sick, but that night I was willing to try. Now my favorite ice cream at Baskin Robbins is Strawberry Cheesecake, so I politely told that girl that was what I wanted. She responded that they were all out, but that they had cheesecake. So I asked well can I have half a scoop of cheesecake and half a scoop of strawberry? She gave me a really nasty look and said "No I can't do that, But you can buy two kids scoops that equal a normal sized scoop." Okay for all you non-Baskin Robbin'sers a normal scoop $2.50 -- kids scoop $1.90. So basically she wanted me to pay $4.00 for $2.50 worth of ice cream...I don't think so!!! So I walked out, very upset and a goal to boycott Baskin Robbins...

THE BEAN!!!

On Monday we headed downtown for shopping after we stuffed out faces at the Bongo Room again! Delicious! Mmmm. Anyways after we hit up Forever 21 or is is xxi Forever...anyways...we headed to the Bean. Can't go to Chicago with out taking a few pics in Millennium Park at the Bean...we had a great time! Then we booked it back across town! We had 15 minutes to make it back to our car before the meter ran out! And as we walked up to the car the meter beeped from 1 minute to Expired! Awesome timing!!!

This Place is a Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo -- and the best part??? It was FREE!!!!

So I think we spent most of the time in the gift shop...

And the best part of the Zoo -- When Steph said "We can't go in there...it's the Private house...." I seriously died laughing!

Bongo Take 2

Mmmm -- that is really all there is to say!

Breakfast

1) Strawberry/Pineapple/Rhubarb French Toast with a Ginger crust and gelato on top
2) Berry-Banana Cheesecake Pancake
3) Pretzel crusted pancake with warm white chocolate and caramel drizzled over.

Saturday -- A day of FOOD!

Today was the day of heavenly food!!! We went to breakfast at my FAVORITE spot the Bongo Room, and can I just tell you it is even better then I remember!!! Seriously heaven! I had berry cheesecake flapjacks....Mmmm! And Steph had chocolate tower french toast! It was so amazing we are going back on Monday!

For dinner we went to the Melting Pot with some of Steph's friends (and now mine, sorry girls if you don't agree!) Nicole and Danica, I had never been there before but cheese and chocolate -- I knew I would be a fan. It was amazing as well. Joy's brother Caleb was our waiter, he is a hot boy and gave us an out of this world deal, we were all a little shocked, so we tried to compensate him accordingly.

Go Cubbies

We are at the Cubs game -- be jealous!

I Made It!!!!

So after a really long day of traveling yesterday I finally made it to Chicago! My flight ended up being delayed by another hour! But once I got on the plane I was confident that the rest of the day would run smoothly....ha ha ya right! As we were flying into Chicago all you could see was rush hour and I had a sinking feeling. I texted Steph and sure enough she was stuck in traffic. The traffic people were saying it would be another hour and forty minutes to get to the airport and we were looking at over 2 more to get home! We decided the best thing would be for me to take the train and she would meet me at one of the stops. Mind you this was only my second train ride ever, so I was a little nervous. Well rewind to the plane, I can be a bit of an eaves dropper from time to time, so I knew the boy sitting behind me has never been on the train before, but that he was taking it down town....so I walked up to him and baggage claim and asked if he would like to take the train with me :) Yes I realized that neither of us really knew what we were doing, but a little moral support can go a long way! Anyways we get down to where the train picks you up and realize it is closed -- maybe construction?? So we go upstairs take the bus, that drops us off at the train and we are on our way! My new friend Ryan (plane guy) and I chatted the whole ride, and I didn't even get nervous...till I had to get off. I always think of really weird things like -- what if I don't get to the door in time and I can't get off at my stop?? Or what if the train misses my stop and I don't know where I am?? Well needless to say the train did stop, I was able to get off, and Steph was there promptly to pick me up! Although before she got there I did get to meet one of Chicago's nicest and most polite bums. Oh and needless to say with all these adventures we missed the 5K that was supposed to be at 7:30...I was not too bummed about that seeing as though it was a down pour at the time of the race!

Bumppy Start

This morning I was decieved. The day started off well, I was up on time (thanks to Coops text) no issues with traffic to the airport. The trouble started once I boarded the plane to Cincinnati. There was this completely disgusting man in front of me that insisted on farting the entire plane ride. For those of you that think I am exaggerating -- I'm not! Then upon arrival I find out my flight is delayed into Chicago by an hour :( so here I sit in Outback at the Cincinnati Airport eating an Awesome Blossom for lunch. But it is still better then being at work :)

Mobile Blogger

I am now officially a Mobile Blogger! Ha ha. Well I mainly did this so when I am in Chicago my friends at work can look at my blog while I am away and be jealous!

CHICAGO!!!!

Okay so if you can't tell I am more then a little excited to be going to Chicago tomorrow!!!! It feels like a lifetime ago that I booked my ticket -- but the day is almost here! I will try and be a good girl and update at least some pictures while I am away....but no promises!
Love you all --

Freedom is never free ~ Author Unknown

I have had many amazing friends that have been over to Iraq and Afghanistan. I have always tried to be a good "pen pal" and usually keep up with them on at least a weekly basis. Right now my dear friend Capt. Z (Christopher Zilka) is in the hot desert...I worry about him daily. Come home safe to us Z.

The real reason for this post is to thank all of the soldiers that serve our country daily. They put their own lives in danger so mine won't be. I can't imagine the sacrifice they make daily being away from friends and family. I admire their strength and compassion. So thank you all!

Sure Jesse is funny but not a forever kind of guy. Did you totally forget that he is a snowboarder and that requires you to live somewhere cold? You don't like the cold DeAnna!!! Poor Jason -- Poor Ty -- Good for me though! ha ha! Steph get planning -- we are headed to Seattle!

OCD

I have decided when I think about things too much they start to bug me. Case in point, my car radio. It was driving me nuts that the stations were just randomly entered. No order just random numbers. So what do I do? Sit in a hot car for 20 minutes and put them in numerical order....could this become a problem?

ML

Matt's blog made me cry today. From the day I found this blog I have been a close follower. Maybe it makes me an insane blog stalker that I feel like I know him...but I feel like it is okay. If you know me, you know that one of my biggest fears in getting married or long term serious relationships is the thought of loosing that person. Matt knows this pain first hand. He dosesn't try to sugar coat the emotion -- it's as raw and real as it gets.

"12 years, 58 days.
first-date to death.
that’s how long
we were together.
realized that this is
the longest i’ve
ever gone without seeing
liz."

"tonight,
it hit me.
she’s gone.
it's finally real"

"i likely won’t realize
it when it arrives, but
12 years and 59 days
from the day of her death,
we will have been
been apart longer
than we were together.
that f**king scares me."

Worst Blogger EVER!

Holy cow! Can I just say I have been the worst blogger ever! But I have an excuse...my life has been lame and not very interesting or entertaining! We did have a nice three day weekend for the Fourth and that was fabulous! I didn't want to come back to work -- but what is new there!?!? Over the weekend I got to spend some quality time with my Rockstar Zach, he was in town from LA. I love spending time with Zach because not only my opposite in many ways, be is my twin in others. We have a fabulous time together whenever we get to meet up. Why is he called Rockstar Zach you ask...well for a couple reasons. We used to party like rockstars together...ha ha...and the below picture will explain the rest! I heart him and miss him already.

Then on Sunday I went to Rykers baby blessing. It was so awesome to be able to go and support Becky and Doug. Both of their families were also able to make it! Becky cutest sister ever Heather was there as well! She is seriously so adorable, and I had a good time playing photog with her! I will have to post pictures later -- they were all taken with Becky and Heather's cameras! Love you Langfords! You are seriously the best to me! You feed me, let me crash date night, lounge on your couch and steal your child! I coudn't ask for better friends! I am seriously so blessed to have you so close to me!
